It would be irresponsible for the U.S. to invade Iran for one reason.
The one and only reason is this:
Russia may consider the U.S. an unchecked and definitly unbalanced, (in the sense of unbalanced reasoning), superpower. There should never be just one superpower, ever.
This could force the presently tamed Russian Bear to form an alliance with, get this my Commie fearing Cousins south of the border, the Evil Chinese Empire!!!!!
Face it, both are communist, even though they hate and despise each others form of communism they are still communists. The enemy of my enemy blah blah blah. What tidier way to create checks and balances eh?
Not to mention Chinas economic growth at over %10 a year makes it a very attractive wagon for Russia to hitch its lame horse to.Though China could probably rival the States in about 25 to 30 years on its own it would be quicker to hook up with Russia.
Or Russia could form an ad-hoc alliance with France and Germany, the three are pretty tight now, it would just be a matter of formalizing things.

Set up Satelites to beam free shows and news into the Middle East manned by Arabs to authenticate the message and in a couple of short, relativly cheap decades, democracy will form again, probably in Iraq. I'm not joking.
